Arthur Curtis Richardson Obituary
Arthur Curtis Richardson was born July 4, 1934 in Opelika, AL to the union of the late Cooper A. and Dannie Lee Richardson. He was the second eldest of eight children: John (Deceased), Lela Dixon (Henry, deceased), Thelma (Willie) Hollins, Frank, Wendell (Irma), Helen, and Ronald. He also deeply cared for his brother Fred (Ella) Tolbert and sister Sarah Ford. Arthur Curtis Richardson affectionately known as "Curt" accepted Christ at a very young age at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Gary, Indiana. He graduated from Froebel High School and entered the U.S. Army on September 29, 1953. He was stationed at Fort Hayes in Columbus, Ohio. While in the service, he was ranked Sp3. He was honorably discharged on September 28, 1961. After service to his country, Curt returned home to Gary, Indiana and began a career at U.S. Steel corp. He worked at U.S. Steel for over 35 years. Curt departed this life Sunday, October 4, 2015 at 7:55 p.m. at Methodist Hospital Northlake. Curt leaves to cherish his memories one daughter Thelma Richardson, nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation Friday, October 9, 2015 from 9 to 11:00 a.m. with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. All services at the Guy & Allen Chapel, 2959 W. 11th Ave. Gary, IN. Interment Fern Oaks Cemetery.
