Dearest Rose, Vanessa, Elliott and Johnetta,
I have never met your mom, but I always felt like I knew her from the vivid and funny stories Rose told me throughout the years. I always looked forward to hearing one of Rose's stories, as she would occasionally, lovingly and respectfully refer to your mom as, Ms. Rebecca. I do know she was a no-nonsense, but loving mom who loved her Sunday go to church meetings and fancy hats.
I know the words - I am so sorry for your loss seem so cliche, but it is truly how I feel. I understand the deepest levels of sorrow and emptiness one can feel with the loss of a mother. And I do not want anyone to experience that pain, especially those I love.
Rose, I will always remember and love you for the way you were there for me when Mama Cooper passed (she absolutely adored you). You held me up when all I wanted to do was fall; you spoke for me when I couldn't; you listened when I was incoherent; you cried with me when I wept; and most importantly, you loved me and was a true sister and friend in the darkest hour of my life. I LOVE YOU MAN, and I am so very sorry that I have not been there for you in the way in which you were for me. But please know that it is my heart's desire to support you in any way I can. Please also know that I have held you and your family in constant prayer every since I heard the news.
I so wish I could be more comforting and profound, but I can tell you that in time, you will feel better. You will have your moments, but try to remember the funny moments with your mom to bring a smile to you heart. I found this to be particularly healing during my phases of grief.
Love you all,
Deeeloooes
