Clyde was my brother twice, biological and Greek. He was the one who inspired me to be a Delta. Those who know the "Divine Nine", know that the Coleman/Brown love connection is real. He was a good brother that definitely made sure we kept the "Ties that Bind" between the Joneses after my parents passed. We lost a family icon that can't be replaced. I want to thank those of you that came to the service, called to give condolences or wrote an inspiring message to family in Clyde's honor.

This hurts. Although I have been away from Gary for many years my good memories of Brother Clyde seem fresh. Hanging out at his house around 15th & Chase with his brothers and sisters and Lindell were good times. Clyde was a soft spoken consumate gentleman at all times. His love for his family, guidance, and stewardship was excellent. He was a good friend to all, kind, and charitable. I wish that I could attend the services but I'm too far away. My heart goes out to all of Clyde's family, sisters and brothers whose names I cannot mostly recall. Clyde is in a better place rejoined with those who went before. My prayers are with you all in this time of sorrow.

I am going to miss this gentleman scholar. Clyde was my inspiration to go to law school. He was my dean of pledges. We shared so many memories. It is painful reflecting back on our common moments. He is my brother. I know he is now embracing Arvis, his wife who died too soon, before him. Love you brother.

Clyde will be missed, such a caring person. He and my brother, Charles Smith were friends. When my brother passed away in Calif. Clyde was there for. Me. I'm not there in body, but I'm sure there in spirit. God has called home one of his angels. Family, hold on to the awesome memories!
