Robert "Bobby" S. Neshiem, age 74, of Mazeppa, died on Sunday morning, June 10, 2018, at Cottagewood Senior Communities in Rochester.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 14, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mazeppa, with Pastor Alan Horn officiating. Burial will be in the Mazeppa Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. Arrangements were made with Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota.
Robert Stanley Neshiem was born on June 15, 1943, in Lanesboro to Ernest and Hazel (Olson) Neshiem. He graduated from Mabel High School in 1961 and attended Austin area Vo-Tech and received a certificate in auto mechanics.
On May 23, 1964, Bob married Delores Sabanish at Garness Church in Mabel. He began his career at IBM in 1965, working as a tool maker. They moved their family of five to Mazeppa in 1972 and bought a farm as a family of six in 1973. Bob started farming and it was truly his passion, he retired after 30 years at IBM in 1994, and continued to farm until his health no longer allowed him too. Bob also served on the Mazeppa Township Board for 27 years. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Bob enjoyed taking old car trips with groups of friends, and going on cruises to see the world. He loved family birthday parties, and spending time with his kids and grandkids on the farm, taking them sliding in the corn, snowmobiling, and going to tractor pulls.
Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Delores; four children, DeAnn (David) Steensland, Doreen Neshiem, John (Theresa) Neshiem, and Jason (Kari) Neshiem; six grandchildren, Kammie, Melissa, Lane, Abby, Braydon, and Temi; four great-grandchildren, Rylan, Dawson, Teagan, and Raeya; sister, Marlene McCabe; and brother, Wayne Neshiem.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church.
