Nancy Buck Obituary
A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota, with the Rev. Wayne D. Schoch officiating. Inurnment will be in Zumbrota Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 10, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota, and on Thursday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Nancy Jean Berg was born Aug. 22, 1939, on the family farm in the Pumpkin Hollow area of Milton Township, Dodge County, to Guy and Gladys (nee Logan) Berg. As a young child, her family moved to the Zumbrota area. Nancy attended and graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1957. On April 12, 1958, she married John H. Buck Jr., at United Lutheran Church in Zumbrota. They farmed in Zumbrota Township and Nancy worked for 25 years in the kitchen area of the Zumbrota Nursing Home and later at the Covered Bridge Restaurant. Nancy and John moved into Zumbrota in 1990 and Nancy retired in 2001.
Nancy was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and enjoyed dancing especially polkas and waltzes, collecting owl figurines and memorabilia, and spending time with her grandchildren and attending their school functions and events.
Nancy is survived by her husband, John; children, Candice (Clancy) Trenda of Hastings, Terry (Kelli) Buck of Zumbrota and Renae (Joel) Wolf of Mankato; grandchildren, Adam, Lindsey and Nathan Trenda, Ashlen, Kaitlen and Rianne Buck, Stacy and Travis Robinson and Linnea Wolf; sister, Janet (Donald) Ramstad of Zumbrota; sisters-in-law, Berdell Gadient of Goodhue, Ardell (Roy) Flynn of Red Wing and Joan Moldenhauer of Red Wing; and many nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Gladys; brothers, Lloyd, Tom, Jim and Gerald Berg and sister, Betty Lubahn.
Memorials are preferred to Christ Lutheran Church or School.
Honorary bearers are her grandchildren.
