Kenneth Berge Obituary
Kenneth George Berge was born Feb. 9, 1926, to Henry and Edith (Collins) Berge in Wahkon, Minn. In 1944, he graduated from Isle High School in Isle, Minn. After graduation, he attended school at the University of Minnesota until he was drafted to the Navy from 1944-1945 where he was an Aviation Ordnance man in San Diego. He returned to the U of M where he attended medical school. On Sept. 1, 1949, he married Aline Hoyt in Ray, Ariz. Kenneth did an internship at Boston City Hospital and started working at Mayo Clinic in Internal Medicine in 1954. Kenneth worked well into his 80s as a medical editor at Mayo Clinic. Aline passed away in December 2014.
Kenneth enjoyed sailing, watching sports on television, reading, woodworking, rock collecting and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren.
Kenneth is survived by his children, Keith (Johanna) Berge of Rochester, Betty (Rick) Devine of Rochester, and William (Janet) Berge of Phoenix, Ariz; five grandchildren, Katie (Chris Durand) Devine, Nick (Erin) Berge, Johnny (Alexis) Devine, Jen (Jack) Kalyazhny and Madeline Berge; and six great-grandchildren, Finley, Henry, Oliver, Daria, Callum and Teddy. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Aline; four brothers; and one sister.
There will be a memorial service to be held at the Charter House at a future date.

Sorry for your loss. I worked with Dr. Berge when I first started at Mayo. A very intelligent and great man.
