James Steward Obituary

James Douglas (Stewy) Steward

Appleton - James Douglas Steward (Stewy), age 41, passed away on January 10, 2021 due to complications of a heart attack. He was born on July 16, 1979 to Larry and Patti (Loehrke) Steward. James suffered many health issues over the past few years. He was a recipient of a kidney/pancreas transplant and believed so much in helping others; he registered as a donor at his death.

Before his disability, and when he was able, he loved to cook, go camping and fishing with his dog, ride his motorcycle, and garden. His roses, tomatoes and jalapenos were his pride.

James is survived by his parents, Larry and Patti; his brother Jeffrey Steward; his paternal grandmother, Marian Steward; a niece Katlin Steward; two nephews Carter Steward and Gregory Allen; and his dog Faith. He was especially close to and loved his dear aunt Jeanette. He is further survived by other paternal and maternal aunts, uncles, and nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his grandmother, Velda Miller; grandfather, Douglas Steward; Aunt Betty Rammer; cousin Mark Rammer; and his beloved dog Cooter.

No service will be held at this time due to the Corona virus. Please pray for his peace. We will have a celebration of life at a later date. James' wishes were to be cremated. Valley Funeral Home in Appleton is assisting with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice. Any cards or condolences may be directed to the James Steward Family c/o Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond Street, Appleton, WI 54911.

A special thank you to his nurse Amanda at St. Paul Nursing Home, his home health nurse Autumn, and his critical care nurse Ryan in the ICU at ThedaCare Appleton, who took compassionate care as if he were his own son.
