Atwater, Loretta
Loretta Atwater passed away December 31, 2012, at Good Shepherd Services in Seymour, Wisconsin. She was born April 27, 1922, in Lyndonville, N.Y., the daughter of the late Fred and Vinona Voelker. She married the late Elwood Atwater April 25, 1942. He passed away June 12, 2007.
Loretta is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Tarajos of Lockport, N.Y.; and her son, Jeffrey (Karen) Atwater of Appleton, WI. She also is survived by four grandchildren, Lisa (Ron) Bolt of East Amherst, N.Y.; Deniale (Todd) Steffen of Merrill, WI; Ryan (Lisa) Atwater of Green Bay, WI; and Tracy (John) Larson of Appleton, WI; and six great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sister, Marcia (Paul) Kenyon of Lyndonville, N.Y. She was predeceased by her sister, Bernice (William) Balschmiter and her brothers, Leland and Raymond Voelker.
Loretta and Elwood lived in Somerset, New York for many years. Loretta retired from Harrison Radiator, General Motors, May 1977. After retiring, she and Elwood moved to St. Petersburg, FL, where they lived until 2000. They then moved to Appleton, WI.
Loretta and Elwood enjoyed traveling and went on 22 cruises and drove cross country many times.
Arrangements are being made by Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home in Barker, N.Y. Friend may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1708 Pallister Ave. Barker, N.Y. Friday 7 to 9 p.m., where funeral services will be held SATURDAY at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Hartland Cemetery. Donations may be made to Faith United Methodist Church in Barker, NY 1449 Quaker Road Barker, NY 14012 or to Good Shepherd Services 607 Bronson Road Seymour, WI Would be appreciated by the family.
