Halbach, Alois "Al" A.

Alois "Al" A. Halbach Jr., age 78, of New Holstein formerly of the Marytown area, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Monday, January 13, 2014.

He was born August 10, 1935 in the Town of Brothertown to the late Alois Sr. & Catherine (Boehlein) Halbach.

Al attended school at St. Charles Catholic Grade School in Charlesburg. On May 21, 1957, he married Dolores Mueller at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chilton.

Al farmed on the family homestead in the Town of Brothertown near Marytown where he would proudly be seen driving his John Deere tractors. He also drove school bus for a short time and had worked at Kohler Co. for 14 years.

He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein and a former member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Charlesburg.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores; his four children, Pat (Jim) Schnettler of Fond du Lac, Carol Propson of Oshkosh, Gail (Fred) Thome of Malone "Johnsburg", and Paul Halbach of New Holstein "Marytown"; eight grandchildren, Tanya (Bart) Schad, Tracy (Brock) Patrouille, Justin Halbach (Fiancée, Amber), Amy (Billy) Bonnett, Lynn Propson, Peggy Thome (fiancé, Jestin), Pam Thome, and Peter Thome; five great-grandchildren, Brynn Patrouille, Brady Schad, Benson Bonnett, Corbin and Della Danes; his brothers and sisters, Hiliary Grebe of Fond du Lac, Betty (Marvin) Kraus of Mount Calvary "Calvary Station", Marie (Robert) Mueller of Chilton, Allen (Chris) Halbach of Kiel, and Ruth Halbach of Texas; and his in-laws, Monica Halbach of Chilton, Ruth (John) Moliter of Sheboygan, Betty (Wilmer) Buechel of New Holstein "Marytown", David Mueller of Chilton and Donald Mueller of Chilton. Al is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Alois Sr. & Catherine Halbach; two brothers, Earl Halbach and Roger (Helen) Halbach; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence & Esther Mueller; a sister-in-law, Doris (Eddie) Roehrig; two brothers-in-law, Herbert Muellenbach and Carlton Grebe.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 1724 Madison Street New Holstein. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home 2618 Altona Avenue New Holstein, WI 53061 on Friday, January 17th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again at the funeral home Saturday from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM when brief rites will be held.

A prayer service will be held at the funeral home Friday evening at 7:45 PM.
