Franklin Lehman D.D.S.

Franklin J. Lehman, D.D.S.

Dr. Franklin J. Lehman, Appleton, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2013. "Doc" was born on February 17, 1933, in Bear Creek to the late Albert and Viola (Miller) Lehman. His dental career spanned over 40 years, culminating in his retirement in 2000. Doc proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956, serving in Germany. He was truly a sportsman his entire life. He had a passion for wildlife and supported its preservation and protection. Active in many sports, he was a skilled skier but was most well-known for his love of the game of golf. As much as he loved the game itself, he treasured the friends he made on the golf course. Fox Valley Golf Course in Kaukauna, his favorite links, held many wonderful memories of golf partners and memorable games.

Survivors include his son, John Lehman; his brothers Gary (Maude) Lehman and Stanley (Marge) Prellwitz; his sister, Gloria (David) Schields; his sisters-in-law, Carol Weiland and Dona Lehman; many nieces and nephews; and his dear friends, Linda Mischler, Chris, Bridget, and Alex Mischler. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Al, "Whitey", and Nathan.

Funeral services will be at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2014, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 N. Superior Street, Appleton, with Deacon Gerry Schraufnagel officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in the Danish Cemetery in Bear Creek. The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the Dialysis Centers in Waupaca and Appleton, the staff at the Veterans Home in King, ThedaCare at Home Hospice, and the staff at Appleton Medical Center, for their loving care. Further thanks are extended to Doc's many friendly, considerate and loyal patients. Online condolences may be offered at
