Bergmann, Marian A.
Marian A. Bergmann, age 80 of Hortonville, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 21, 2014, after a brief illness. Marian was born on May 11, 1933, in the Township of Ellington, the daughter of the late Edward and Irene (Pohlman) Wege. On August 25, 1951, she was united in marriage to Merlyn W. "Huntz" Bergmann in Stephensville. They lived happily together in the Township of Ellington for 44 years until his passing in 2003.
Marian was employed by the Hortonville School District for 25 years as a teachers' aide. She was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stephensville, where she was active in the ladies aide, choir, and taught Sunday school. She volunteered her time at Brewster Village in Appleton taking and joining the residence for chapel services. Before his death, Marian and Merlyn enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada by motorcycle. She was an avid square dancer.
Marian will be deeply missed. She is survived by four children: Charles (Debra) and their children: Jennifer (Andrew) Springer, Tamara (Michael) Marten, Christopher Bergmann (fiance, Tia Augustine) and Kayla (Cory) Kraft; Stephen (Cheryl) and their children: Paul (Candice) Bergmann, Jason (Eliane) Bergmann, Luke (Tori) Bergmann and Kimberlee (Andy) Derks; William (Brenda) and their children: Scott Bergmann and Kate (Jason) Anderson; and daughter, Charlotte Bergmann. She is further survived by her siblings, Ronald (Carla) Wege; Gloria Thurner; and Mary Anne Wege; nine great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Joan (LeRoy) Manley; Linda (Dennis) Hogan; Helen (Ralph) Timm; and Janice Hammack; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Marian is preceded in death by her parents; and husband of 51 ½ years, Merlyn.
A funeral service for Marian will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Stephensville, with Rev. Joel Lillo officiating. Family and friends may call directly at church Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again directly at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the spring at Ellington Cemetery, Township of Ellington.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at New London Family Medical Center for the tender care shown to Marian. Also, a sincere thank you to a trusted neighbor and family friend, Roy Hegard, for his dedication and care over the many years.
In this time of sorrow, we find comfort knowing Mom is reunited with Dad, the Love of her Life.

To the Bergmann family...I will always remember Marion as a warm friendly lady with a beautiful smile. Driving past her home was always a delight as she kept her garden and yard pristine, even after "Hunts" passed away. You are all in my thoughts and prayers!
