David Arnoldussen Obituary

David "Arnie" Arnoldussen

Kaukauna - David "Arnie" Arnoldussen, age 72 of Kaukauna, passed away January 7, 2021 at the place he loved to be, up north at his cottage on Lower Post Lake, Wisconsin. Dave was born July 30, 1948 to Raymond and Pearl (VandeHey) Arnoldussen. He married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life Mary (Bergman) Arnoldussen on November 8, 1968. Together they raised their 3 sons. He was a member of both St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Kaukauna and Holy Family in Elcho, Wisconsin.

Dave is survived by Mary, his loving wife of 52 years, and his 3 sons and their families: Dean Arnoldussen (Coralie Parnell) of Wonder Lake, IL, and their children Erin, Rianne, Paige and Adia; Adam (Robin) Arnoldussen of Kaukauna and their children Alex and Audrey; Nick (Erika) Arnoldussen of Appleton. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Donald Arnoldussen and his wife, Tammy Arnoldussen, brothers-in-law Norbert Fox, Charles Walker, mother-in- law Margaret Bergman, and father-in- law John P. Bergman. Also surviving are his brother Charles (Karen) Arnoldussen, his sister Charlene (Ron) Ehlers, and brother Dennis (Mary) Arnoldussen; sisters-in-law Nancy (Butch) Miller, JoAnn Fox, and Sandy Walker, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Dave did what he loved to do all his life. He started Arn's Cabinets with his father Ray in 1976, then later took it over teaching his two sons, Nick and Adam, who later took over the business. His son Dean, mechanical engineer, also inherited his dad's love of wood working.

In 1996, he and three others started Fox Valley Mission Group. Over the course of 25 years, he has volunteered both domestically and internationally, with Nicaragua being a place he and Mary both held so close to their hearts. Dave has gone over 25 times, with some of the most memorable being those where some of his children and grandchildren accompanied him. They considered Nicaragua their second home.

Dave's family has many cherished memories of the time spent with him.

A private funeral liturgy will be held for the family. This mass will be livestreamed at Dave's obituary page at www.wichmannfuneralhomes.com at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 14, 2021.

Dave, Love you forever. I will miss so much hearing, "Night, Mar." Until we meet again. Yours, Mary.

Grandpa, Thank you for all the fun memories from the outdoor activities and adventures that we shared. Love, all your grandchildren.

Dad, Thank you so much for your constant love and guidance and for teaching us about life and what is important. Love, Dean, Adam, and Nick. WWDD

They say in life you are lucky to have one or two good friends. Dave and Mary you have been that for us. In good times and bad with your cards, calls, visits and physical help. We have been blessed to have you both in our lives. We will truly miss Dave’s smile and sense of humor. When Mary and Dave were United in marriage, you couldn’t have found a better a match.

Dave was one of those people who helped so many, in a quiet sort of way. He knew how to pull people together to get the job done; void of any showy display of fanfare. Dave worked hard, but also made sure there was enough time for fun!
An example is in a wooden game board that, together, both Dave and Mary crafted. We have one of these beautifully made boards, which has brought hours of fun to our family.
Anyone who has played a rousing game of "Dirty Marbles" will understand what I am about to say.
"From now on, whenever a deuce card turns up on our board, we will think of both Dave and Mary. The deuce keeps the player in the game without jeopardizing the other players. It also grants an extra bonus turn, which brings the player that much closer to the safety of their home base."
Dave, you have shown us a lifetime of examples of the kinder path you chose to follow home.
With our love and comfort to Mary and family,
Paula & Dave McGuire
