Marie M. (Nee' Brouillard) Filen Obituary
Marie M. Filen (nee' Brouillard)

Appleton - Marie "Gramma Marie", 77 passed away peacefully on Sunday May 13, 2018 with her family by her side. She was born in Appleton on December 6, 1940, daughter of the late Isadore and Isabelle (Pompa) Brouillard. Marie married the love of her life, James Filen on September 12, 1959. Marie and Jim were married for 55 years before his death on December 22, 2014.

Marie was an avid Packer fan. She loved to knit and always shared her "goods" with family and friends, washing dishes without her washcloths will never be the same. Marie loved music especially "old time rock n roll", she would always get up and dance when that song came on. Marie would light up a room with her presence. Her greatest love came from time spent with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt.

Marie is survived by her three children: Jeff (Diane), Jean (Mike) Pawlowski and Joe (Dawn); eight grandchildren: Andy (Sarah) Pawlowski, Jessie (Chad) Loch, Ashley, Kayla, Kyle (Rachel), Jed, Josie and Brandon; four great grandchildren: Will, Elissa, Anderson, Delilah and soon to be baby boy, Loch; brother, Harry (special friend, Sharon); sister in-law, Shirley Brouillard; and many nieces and nephews. She was further preceded in death by two brothers: Ray and Jerry; sister, Rosie Voeltz; brother in-law: Waylon Voeltz; and two sisters' in-law: June and Delores Brouillard.

A memorial service for Marie will be 2:00 PM on Friday May 18, 2018 at Valley Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday afternoon beginning at 12:00 until the 2:00 PM service. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.

Marie's family would like to extend a special thank you to her sister in-law, Shirley, for all the care and compassion in the help with mom, and also to her loving neighbors who were always looking out for her.
