Ralph H. "Jake" Jacob
Fremont - Ralph H. "Jake" Jacob, age 73, of Fremont, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 3, 2020, at his home in Fremont. He was born on September 18, 1946 in Appleton, WI, the son of the late Henry and Veronica (Glander) Jacob.
In 1964 Jake graduated from Appleton High School. Following graduation, Jake was drafted into the US Air Force and always told people his senior class trip was to Vietnam. He also served in the US Army where he did another tour of duty in Vietnam. Following his military service, Jake worked as a printer for Neenah Printing for over 30 years before retiring. Jake was an avid golfer and was a member of Weymont Run Country Club in Weyauwega and was also proud of the fact that he scored two hole in one's during his golfing career. He enjoyed playing cribbage on Friday afternoons at the Log Cabin(now The Buss Stop) Jake also loved hunting fishing, building many different things and doing remodeling projects around his home. He will be remembered for his quick wit and his many jokes.
On September 3, 1999, Ralph married April (Lorenz) Jacob at Lake of the Clouds in Michigan. .
Ralph is survived by his wife, April; his children, Shane (Wendy) Jacob, Greg Jacob, Michael (Carrie) Hammer and Brett (Darcie) Hammer; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice Claypool and Jean Willer; five sisters-in-law, Barb McCrory, Judy VanDyke, Sally(Merle)Alix, Julie Holcomb and Linda Lorenz; a brother-in-law, Ed Whitman; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Robert and Fred McCrory; two sisters, Shirley Whitman and Beverly(Jack)Peterson; and a brother-in-law, Blaine Claypool
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Weymont Run Country Club, N1061 County Rd. U, Weyauwega, where family and friends can gather and share their stories about Jake. Military honors will immediately follow the gathering. In lieu of flowers, Jake's family is asking that you make a donation to your favorite charity
