Ralph Montonati Obituary
Ralph W. Montonati, age 87, passed away on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2013, reuniting with his sweetheart of 62 years, and giving her the best gift he could, himself. Ralph was born on March 5, 1925, the son of the late Aldo and Esther Montonati. He grew up in Menasha and served his country in World War Two on a destroyer. On June 21, 1947, he married the love of his life Irene Sokel. They were blessed with two daughters and had 62 wonderful years together before Irene's death. After Ralph retired from American Can he enjoyed spending time in Eagle River area at the cabin, especially during deer hunting. He loved spending time with his family, always willing to help out in any way he was needed. He loved fishing with his grandson and later with his great-grandson.

Ralph is survived by his daughters Lana (Dennis) Daczyk and Linda Montonati; his grandchildren: Stacy (Jeff) Zeuske, Todd Daczyk; his great grandson, and his Buddy, Adam Zeuske; one sister, Sue (Gene) Kalkoske, two brothers, Jim (Sandy) Montonati and Truman "Bucky" (Carol) Montonati, two brothers-in-law, Richard (Corky) Sokel and Hillard Sokel, and four sisters-in-law: Joyce Kolasinski, Molly Sokol, Leah Sokel, and Marion Sokel; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Irene, parents-in-law: Joseph and Marie Sokel; and brothers-in-law: Joseph Sokel Jr., David Kolasinski, Robert and Sue Sokel and John Sokol.

It was Ralph's wish to not have a funeral. Private inurnment will take place at a later date at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Menasha. In Lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.

The family would like to thank the ER Team at Theda Clark, especially Craig, for the care and compassion he showed to Ralph.

Grandpa-When we lost grandma I asked you to give me twenty more years. You did the best you could and everyday I got to spend with you was a treasure. My heart is hurting because you are gone but I know you are happy with grandma. Together, please watch over us. I'll love you forever. -Stacy
