Kenneth D. "Ken" Koch, 82, of Iron Mountain passed away on Monday, January 14, 2013, at his home.

Ken was born July 15, 1930 in Waupaca, WI, son of the late Peter and Sonia (Floistad) Koch. He graduated from Waupaca High School in 1948. Ken was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War serving from 1951 to 1953 and attained the rank of Corporal. He married Alice Baldwin on March 15, 1980, at our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Kingsford. Ken worked for many years as a sales representative, finishing his career with Morning Glory Foods and retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Elks Club and Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, where he served as an elder. Ken was proud to be a veteran and faithfully supported several veterans' organizations. He enjoyed collecting coins and playing outdoor games at the cottage, which he loved. Ken was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers, Tigers, Cubs, Badgers, Michigan and Michigan State. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting activities.

Ken is survived by his wife, Alice; his children, Keith (Cindy) Koch, Karri (Richard) Spletter, Kitty (Rob) Groves; Alice's children, Dale (Lori) Baldwin, Glenn (Kris) Baldwin, Sue Fox, Debi (Mike) Horton, Sandy (Jim) Petroff, Keith (Lisa) Baldwin and Brian (Kristie) Baldwin; a brother, Robert Koch; aunt, Elsie Gurholt; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Grace Koch.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 18, 2013, from 10 a.m. to noon at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Kingsford. Funeral services will follow at noon at the church. Rev. Thomas Mackey will officiate. The Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50 will conduct military funeral honors following the services at the church.

There will also be a memorial service on Saturday, January 19, at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel at Highland Memorial Park, 3131 N. Richmond St. Appleton, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Ken's memory.
