Rita A. Adamovich

Neenah - Rita A. Adamovich, of Neenah, age 73, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, July 18, 2018. She was born September 21, 1944 in Rhinelander, daughter of the late James and Agnes (Godeck) Zmek. Rita was raised in Sugar Camp, WI, and graduated from Three Lakes High School in 1962. She married James Adamovich on February 8, 1964.

Rita and Jim moved to Neenah in 1968 and she worked as a pre-school teacher for many years until retiring in 2009. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Menasha where she worked with their Ladies Aide and served on the Board of Worship. Rita also volunteered with Challenge the Outdoors for many years where they helped the handicapped experience outdoor activities.

Survivors include her husband, Jim; two children: David (Holly) Adamovich, Christine (James) Savka; a grandson, Ryan (Emily) Adamovich; four grand dogs: Xavier, Herman, Izzy, Moxy; three brothers: Gilbert Zmek, Robert (Barb) Zmek, William (Terry) Zmek; two god children: Brian Godeck and Kamie Davis and many nieces, nephew and friends.

Rita was preceded in death by infant sister, Lucille; and her adopted daughter, Toni Jones. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, in Eagle River in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery. Seating will not be provided. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church of Menasha OR Challenge the Outdoors in Rita's memory.

So sorry to hear of Rita's passing. Rita always had a smile on her face and was a pleasure to be around. She was so thoughtful to bring chocolate candy on one of the nurse's birthdays. She will be truly missed, and our thoughts are with your family at this time.

I met Rita when she cared for my daughter at the daycare center Rita worked at. She was so awesome. My daughter loved her. Rita loved rummage sales, and she and I would see each other at sales and laugh about all the deals we found. Rita is and will be missed by all that knew her.

So sorry to hear of Rita's passing. I met her volunteering for CTO. She was always so sweet, SUCH an incredibly hard worker and ALWAYS positive and uplifting. She will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences to Jim & the entire family. HUGS

Rita will be greatly missed. We worked together at KinderCare. She not only provided care to my son, but also taught me how to care for Infants. She was a truly inspiring person. With my deepest sympathy I hope family can find comfort at this difficult time.
