DANIEL EMERICK Obituary
Age 57, of West View, on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, due to the sudden onset of a debilitating illness. Beloved husband of Nancy (Pfister) Emerick; dedicated and loving father of Shannon L. Emerick; brother-in-law of Jack and Connie Miller; also survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel C., Sr. and Eleanor (Davis) Emerick. Dan was a teacher at the Western PA School for the Deaf for 34 years and was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. Family will receive friends Sunday, 2-7 p.m. at T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills. Mass of Christian Burial in Assumption Church, Bellevue, Monday at 10:00 a.m. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Western PA School for the Deaf, 300 Swissvale Ave., Pgh, PA 15218, or Univ. of Pgh. Athletics, Panther Club, 412-648-8889.

Lots of memories of our son Dougs NH High School track meets include a regular suporter and fan. Dan was a genuine gentle presence with encouragement for Doug after many races. God Bless you all and may Dan rest in peace.

I also, like Jim Brown, grew up with "EM" as we called him. Dan was a great person and no one will ever take his place. He truely loved his parents and his family. Although I never met his wife and daughter, I know they were very special; I would see Dan at Giant Eagle from time to time and get the "latest scoop". My prayers are with you.

prayer for him i was kid 1975 to 1991 in school ( wpsd ) yes.. he is sweet guy.. good teacher to gym to us and help teach to us...memory of him..

I grew up with Dan. We lived two doors away from each other on Rheams Avenue when we were kids. I am truly heartbroken to hear of his passing. He was an inspiration to us all.
