I only knew of Bobby Epps in Miss Cook's class (4th grade?) in Dickson School in Swissvale. He sat in a corner of the room away from the windows. Somehow, I remembered his name all these years, and my husband thought he perhaps he was a famous football player. I do remember he had a wonderful sense of humor.

I first became aware of Bob watching him play for Pitt in the early 50s. He was a great fullback. I later actually met him when I was hired by the Corps of Engineers. We both worked in Design Branch in the 1970s. He was always friendly to me and those around him. I am glad to have known Bobby Epps. My sympathies to his family.

Knew Bob since 1965 working at Turtle Creek Flood Protection Project for the Corps of Engineers; he held the ropes tied to us who were cross-sectioning Turtle Creek. 20 years later,we worked together in the Design Branch of the Corps. Always good hearted with a great smile, he made everyone feel better about life. Rest in peace Bob. Our sympathy to the entire Epps family.

Great role model for everyone. He inspired my cousin Don and myself to improve our physical conditioning for football by running the railroad tracks to the High Level Bridge. My condolences to the family. He will be missed.
