Dear Wendy
I was googling names of friends and shocked to find my 35th Division buddy had died. He joined H Company and served with me until they sent him to officers training and he came back a Lt. and was assigned to I company.
He was smart, brave and resourceful someone you could always count on and an important contributor to our success in the 35th Division. He used his high school German to question the enemy and bluffed his way if they used words he did not understand, all at age 19 and 20.
He loved you and you made his life complete.
Dick OBrien H-137-35tdh Division.

An amazing mentor! I am sorry for your loss Wendy.
Mr. Bartley gave me an opportunity to work for him doing yard work for a few summers as a college student. He left a mark on my life by teaching me many things, one being the value of a hard earned dollar. I havent seen him in about 12 years, but I think about him often. My thoughts are with the family.

Wendy, our heartfelt prayers are with you. Though knowing Burnett nearly all my life, it wasn't until we became across-the-street neighbors 10 years ago that I really began to appreciate him. I have long enjoyed collecting and savoring "characters" in life, and Burnett would rank right up there next to my father atop the list. Beyond his many gifts and accomplishments, I will remember and cherish Burnett for both his noble character and the character he was.
