We played in many bands from high school on. He would crack a cymbal every time we played. He also had a habit of nailing his base drum to the gym floor! We had many great times and he even saved my life once.

My heart is so sad I just learned of Ron's passing. I worked at Jergels in the north hills and spent many years enjoying Ron's talent and zest for life. He will be missed while he plays with the big band in the sky.

I am very sorry to hear of Ronnie's passing. He and I worked together at Consolidated Coal Company in the mailroom in 1975. I remember that he came in to work one day very excited about a local band that had asked him to join as the drummer. he asked me to come and watch them play in a basement bar near Mellon Square. they were good. The name was Wild Cherry. I left Consol shortly thereafter to go back to college and several months later "Play that funky music white boy" zoomed to the top of the charts. I was very proud of Ronnie and his success. I am so sorry for your loss. Spencer G. Markle

My condolences to you Karyn and your sons. I remember Ron coming into our work. He was always so approachable and willing to talk to me about music. It was quite an honor to have had the opportunity to play his drums a couple of times with the house band he had at the time. Peace and comfort to you during this difficult time.

Been a long time ago that me and Ron would walk from my house on Dorseyville road to his house in Parkview with my guitar and his snare drum to rehearse with Joe Dibenedatto and his accordion in our first band. We were around 13 years old. We played 96 Tears over and over.

Ron was a beautiful person and a fabulous musician. I consider it one of the chief milestones of my career to have recorded just one song with him playing the drums. That was a tremendous honor. May he rest in Peace and Light Eternal, until we meet again on that Beautiful Shore and join together in that Angel Band
