Dear Linda and family,
I only just found out and I'm so sorry I was not there to pay my respects personally. I have so many memories of Chuck and the entire family. My deepest sympathy to each and every one of you. Chuckles was the best! You were all so very special to me when I was growing up - I always felt like Chuck was my big brother too! Linda, the love you shared with Chuck is an inspiration to all.

PS from Linda -
Also, thank you Luke for the little stuffed Beanie dog. I know Chuck loves it, & will show it to everyone. And thanks to Justin for the signed Steeler towel. You know he loved the Steelers & will show off that autograph. And thanks to Ian for the Hershey bar - Chuck's favorite. He will share it with everyone.
Thank you.
Love, Linda

To everyone who left entries in the Guest Book for Chuck, thank you so much for all your kind words. It helps when I read those. Chuck would be so glad & grateful that you are helping me feel better. I miss him immensely.
If you want to see pictures of him, there are some on the funeral home website "readshawfuneralhome.com".
And mine & Chuck's love & thanks to all the precious children who wrote such beautiful heartfelt notes for him to take with him to Heaven. Chuck will be so proud to show those letters & notes to everyone there so they can know how beautiful & caring you are - the notes from Jimmy Scheidter, Matt Scheidter, Jordan, Morgan Eikey, David Behr, Matt Behr, Jake Behr, & their mom, Evonne Behr. I'll keep my copies of those notes forever.
I need to repeat some of the passages that were in those notes from our precious nieces & nephews -from ages 5 to 39:
David-"To my best buddy".
Matt S-"Have fun with Pappy".
Jordan-"Thanks for being the Best Uncle".
Morgan-"Believe it or not, I'll miss you telling me the right thing to do", "I always prayed for you in Sunday School", "I Love you Uncle Chuck with all my heart & always will, no matter how far apart we may be".
Matt B-"My most favorite Uncle", "You always had your family in front of everything", "Mom says things happen for a reason & I believe maybe God needed you", "Hope you'll be with me for every Steeler game & every Erie trip till I see you again".
Evonne-"You saw good things in me & made sure you told me", "You taught me good things about myself that you knew about me from when I was young, things I was too young to remember", "You've been such an inspiration to me", "You were a gift to me & our family", "I Love You Always".
From Jake's lovely poem-"Never so quick to judge", "Beautiful memories of the greatest guy, who is holding us right now as we cry".
Little Jimmy S-"Chuck-Thank you for being there for me. Good luck up there. Try to keep my pappy company. Now you really are Superman, you can fly. You better still watch the football games. And I will too. I will not miss one game for you. When the sun shines I will see you. I will see you & Pappy. I will know that you are still there for me. Rest in peace. I will take care of Linda for you."

I treasure these thoughts & notes. I am so glad that you loved him so much. And all the other little children who told me or showed me how much they loved him & how much they will miss him. It was such a consolation to me.
It helps me to write, so forgive this long entry. I appreciate all your thoughts & prayers, & the feelings that you have shown for Chuck.
Love, Linda

Dear Linda,
You know that Mike and I are so sorry to hear this sad news. We will really miss Chuck. In recent years, you and Chuck have entered into our lives and we have become closer to you both. We had such a good time at your house a couple New Years Eve's Ago. I will never forget what you said at Chuck's funeral. You and Chuck both touched our hearts, especially mine. I ran into Chuck the day before he passed on and he was so happy to see me, he gave me a big hug. the feeling was mutual. I love you both and i will pray for your strength every day to get by and to mend your broken heart. The best we all can do is to try to be like him in any way we can. He was the kindest man i knew.

Dear Linda, Words cannot express how sorry we are about Chuck. We will never forget the time that Bill and I came to your house one winter night after doing a favor for my mother, Lena, and ran out of gas at her house, when she told us she would give us gas when we got there. We took our coats off and walked with our kids wrapped in our coats 2 miles to your house in the freezing cold and snow. You and Chuck let us in your house and Chuck took Bill to get the car while myself and the kids stayed at your house. You made sure we were warm. That night is still very alive in our memories and you and Chuck have hearts made of gold. We will never forget that night or you and Chuck. You two have made such an impact on so many lives that God is reserving special seats in heaven. His thoughtfulness and kindness will not go unnoticed. We will miss him very much. Our thoughts are with you always. Bill and Patty Hutton and family

Dear
Linda, I am so sorry. Chuck was always my favorite uncle, he was so
full of fun. I remember a trip to Erie when he told me I had "happy
feet" because they were always moving. I also remember when my dad
passed and Chuck gave me a prayer to read that lifted my spirits at a
time when I thought that was impossible. Chuck was a very special
man and I will miss him. I only wish I could be there with you now, but
please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Linda,
"Chuckles" will always be my favorite of all of my 65 first cousins. He is the first born of May and Frank's grandchildren and he always lived up to that distinction with grace and dignity.
I have many wonderful memories of him and Patrick visiting my father
during my childhood and I will treasure them always. A few years ago Chuck told me of a dream he had and in it was my father and his mother and how he and Patrick went to visit them. I'm sure they are having a great time together right now, I can almost hear them laughing together. I will miss Chucks laugh.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Love you
Diane Faust Dadowski

Chuck was a Special friend with an individual who lives in a group home. As I was telling him the news about Chuck, all he could say Is "he has gone to heaven", with tears in his eyes.
Our condolence's to the family.

A month or two ago, I was talking to Linda about how I love that our family is so good to eachother. She then told me that Chuck is the reason we are like that. I just wanted to say thank you to uncle Chuck. And of all the memories I have of Chuck, my favorite thing is how his entire face would light up every time he saw me, and how he always made sure to tell me he loves me. I love you too Chuck :o). One of the best people I've ever known, I will miss you.

To the Greatest Steeler Fan ever:

Don't Worry, Be Happy

You were a man who touched so may people's lives. You were a blessing to everyone that knew you. I'll always remember our Erie camping trips when you said "Everyone grab a stick and beat a kid". You were the one who went to a garage sale and bought a bike for Ginny when all the kids had a bike and she didn't.

"You Salty Dog", what a blast we had on our North Carolina beach trips. Where you got the best back massgage of your life on the kitchen counter top by all of the girls. Remember that was our little secret from Linda until we sent her the pictures! Well, I'll see you on the other side of the Heavenly Gates because there's no doubt in my mind, that's where you are. Make sure they let me in :)
