In 2024, I finally found his obit. I worked for Gene for 4 years...absolutely the best boss I ever had. No matter how busy he was, if I had question, he would stop and answer it at length. My condolences to his wife and family. He was a most unusual man. Andrea Trappen

I just learned of Professor Maloney's passing and am so sorry for your loss. I took his trust and securities law course at Boston University School of Law in 2004 and learned so much from him. He was a great teacher and always the best dressed! Fifteen years later, after working at several large law firms and financial services companies, I look back and remember fondly how much he helped me get started on my career. I am forever grateful for that experience to start my legal career.

We were so saddened to hear about the passing of Butch Maloney.
Just a few short years ago, Antoinetti and I arrived at the Hillman Cancer Center for my scheduled visit with my oncological surgeon. During my visit we were surprised to run into Butch and Judy Maloney. And then we were further surprised to hear about Butch's health issues but of course Butch and Judy were very optimistic about his recovery. Life is very precious.
Our friendship with Butch and Judy goes back approximately 35 years when we were both living in Upper St. Clair, PA and members of St. Thomas More parish. Butch was an early accomplished young professional attorney with Federated Investors and he taught me the value of doing things with as close to perfection as one could possibly do.
Butch was an extremely accomplished person in his field of finance and law with Federated. He was a very proud father and husband and will be greatly missed.

To Judy and family, as well as his Federated Investors family, Mr. Maloney's sophisticated presence will forever be missed. As his collateral designer for almost 15 years, he has been undeniably, my favorite client, looking forward to every meeting with him and the anecdotes that followed. What a beautifully impressive and insightful man.
Mr. Maloney, God took you in his loving arms, He saw you needed rest. Be at Peace.
Sincerely,
Tom Carey

So saddened by the news of Gene's passing, or Butch as we classmates knew him. While we kept up with each other occasionally over the years, he had asked me few years ago to help out on a project which I thoroughly enjoyed. He has always been a world class guy to me with a keen sense of humor. I will miss him. Tom Carey 66
