Died on Wednesday, June 20, 2007. He was the beloved husband of Edythe Freiberg Green; father of Wendy Kail of Chevy Chase, MD, Keith Green of New York, NY, Larry Green of Atlanta, GA and Richard Green of Greensburg; grandfather of Nickie Greene of New York, NY, Thomas Kail of New York, NY, Katie Kail of Boston, MA, Rory Tahari of New York, NY, Joshua Green of New York, NY, Marisa Green of Atlanta, GA and Samantha Green of Pittsburgh, PA; and great grandfather of Jeremy and Zoe Tahari of New York, NY. Services in the Levy Hall of Rodef Shalom Temple, 4905 Fifth Avenue on Friday at 1pm. Friends will be received in the Aaron Court of Rodef Shalom Temple on Friday from 12 Noon until 1pm. Interment West View Cemetery of Rodef Shalom Temple. The family requests contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements by the BURTON L. HIRSCH FUNERAL HOME, INC. VERY SORRY TO HEAR OF THE DEATH OF HERB. HE WAS VERY WELL KNOWN TO ME THROUGH OUR MANY YEARS TOGETHER IN THE SCRAP BUSINESS. I ALWAYS THOUGHT OF HERB AS A TRUE GENTLEMAN.

To the Family of Herbert Green

I send my deepest condolences to you on the passing of Mr. Green. I knew him when I worked for the City of Pittsburgh with then Councilman Jim Ferlo. Mr. Green was truly a wonderful man and I am happy that I got to know him. I will remember him with fondest memories. I pray for your peace at this time.
