Dear Dennis,

We were so sorry to learn of the tragic accident. Although we never met your father, everything we heard and read tells us what a wonderful person he was. Our deepest sympathy goes to you and your family. We hope your mother has a good recovery.

Jim was more than my half-brother: he was a brother, a friend, an advisor and a sounding board to anything I felt was important. He was a good listener, a compassionate counselor and a deeply spiritual and generous man. I always loved, admired and respected him in life and continue to do so even now that he is no longer with us. I miss him terribly but know in my heart that he has gone to his eternal reward. His legacy of generosity, good-will and sense of humor have influenced the countless people who have been fortunate enough to know him. He was a great man, a loving husband, a devoted father, a loyal brother, and a friend you could always count on. We love you, Jim.

Pop-pop,one damn fine Marine, and an even finer man.

Mrs. Allison & Family,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Mrs. Allison, we love you and are always here for you. Mr. Allison was the most amazing man I have ever known. I want to share with you something Bill wrote :

I don't think anyone was as touched by Mr. James Allison as I have been. In the almost 6 years I have known him he's been as near to me as family. He was a great man and always strived to find the good in people. He served his country and loved his family and friends very much. I like to think I was both in his eyes. Anyone who knew him knows he was a remarkable man. He always wanted you to be your best and wouldn't accept it if you gave any less. I guess thats the Marine in him. You were like another grandfather to me and always cared. We will miss you and we love you. loving father, husband, grandfather, and of course friend may you rest in peace.

Now Ms. Kathleen Allison, what can I say just as sweet and just as caring as her loving husband. You have our best wishes. We're praying for you and we love you greatly... your one of the strongest mothers and women I know.
