I think of Jane quite often and certainly this time of year. I think of the daughter that Jane loved so so so much that she had to leave much too soon. I loved Jane, I knew her from the day she was born. Jane was a wonderful person. Only good things define the Jane we all knew.

My deepest condolences on Jane's early passing. Jane McKee had a truly kind and free spirit as a child and young woman when I knew her at Hebron Elementary School in Penn Hills and in Girl Scouts at Camp Redwing.

Rosa, I am so very sorry.

I have a perspective from a long time ago; I knew your mother when she was somewhere around your age now, she was kind to me instead of caving to social pressure -- when many kids were bullying, she was just plain nice instead.

I met Jane again in Girl Scout Camp Redwing when we were both around 20; her positive energy and spirit (and glowing red hair!) are something I still remember. I am very glad that she was able to accomplish so much good in the world and share her spirit with so many, but so very sorry her life was so short. Truly an inspirational spirit.

My sympathy to the family of Jane. It was a privilege to work with her and she has been an inspiration to many. I personally have been touched by her adventurous spirit and her ability and willingness to "just go for it". She will be missed by so many people and especially by so many students. What an incredible woman!

Such a sad loss for so many. I've knew Jane for over 20 years! Prayers for Jane, the family and for Rosa. She was the true meaning of a loving and caring mom, a beautiful adventurous women and someone who set the example of what it means to be dedicated in what she did when teaching. She loved to read and to spread that love to the kids she taught. She will be missed by the kids and all of us teachers that had the pleasure to teach next to her. God bless her and may she rest in peace.

Jane was one special lady. I enjoyed seeing her loving smile every time I came to work. She always made the books come alive for our children. I loved those funny voices she did. We laughed at them all the time. The Library will be a quiet place for a while. I will hear her voice in there. Telling stories to whomever wants to hear them. Jane go read your stories in heaven. Go Where the Wild things are. Loving and missing you forever. Sonia Jeffrie

Dear Ann,
Was so sorry to see of your daughter's passing. It's always difficult to lose a loved one as we've both been through it, but a child is more difficult. Also, at this time of year.
Know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers and you have my
Deepest Sympathy.

My daughter, Liora, enjoyed going to the school library for many reasons. Ms McKee was the main reason. She knew how to find great books and get kids excited about reading. She knew everyone's name and was patient and kind. She talked about her daughter, clearly a proud , loving mom. She will be missed.

When my children were toddlers and Jane was the librarian at Friendship Elementary she used to host a story time for the neighborhood children who weren't yet school age. Both of my kids, not in high school, remember her. She was that kind of person.

Peace to her family and friends at this difficult time.
