Whether at Magi-Fest, MagiCelebration, Abbott's or any other magical event that Jeff and I were attending, we were the last ones standing. I recall that there were a number of times that the birds were chirping and the sun peaking over the horizon before we ended our conversation. On occasion, Jeff would stop by my shop, The Timid Rabbit Magic & Masquerade Shop in Kalamazoo, and we would talk magic history, magic props, and music until the early morning hours.
When we got together over the phone, E-Mail, or in person, we were also known to show off our latest acquisitions in a contest sort of way. Sometimes Jeff would win and sometimes I won. It really didn't matter though, because I was just as happy for Jeff in his acquisitions as he was with me and mine! It is hard to believe that he is gone. I have lost many friends over the past few months and yes, Jeff was someone who I considered a friend. Jeff's presence will be missed and his memory cherished.
Rest in peace my friend

While attending the Winter Carnival of Magic this past week-end, I was told of Jeff's passing. To say I was in shock would be an understatement. Jeff was a regular fixture at the Abbott Get-Together in Colon, Michigan. Although he was not a registrant, he preferred just hanging around the magic crowd. I could always count on Jeff knocking on the door of our motor home to let us know he was there. He was usually the last person I saw at the end of the evening.
We spent many hours talking magic of which he was most knowledgeable. In our emails he always addressed me as MBDFF, aka Mystic Brother Don From Frankfort. He in turn was known as MBJFP,Mystic Brother Jeff From Pittsburgh. It was our own special joke.
Under that somewhat scruffy exterior was a heart of gold. The Get-Together will be a little less interesting without Jeff.
My deepest sympathies to his companion and family.

My deepest sympathy. I only knew him through our letters and correspondences through the internet. He was always contacting me for magic items. We wrote some letters back and forth. So even though we have never met in person, I feel that I have lost a friend.

Very said to hear the news about Jeff. Always had a smile and always had time to talk and get caught up. The officers knew the Get-Together was close when Jeff arrived. Our condolences to his family and friends but know he touched many lives in a positive way.
God Bless. On behalf of the officers of Colon Police Department; Chief Mark Brinkert

I always enjoyed Jeff's humor and fellowship We first we met up in Colon Mi. for the "Get-Together Every year We would spend the four days joking and knocking down pizza and pop. He always greeted anyone as a friend. His knowledge of magic was very extensive. Jeff always had a smile and a helping hand for anyone. As an avid collector of magic props his interests were very broad. God Bless Jeff and all of his Family

Jeff has been a dear friend to Rex and I during the Abbott Magic Get-together. We have shared many good times talking about magic and the state of the world. Whether we were sitting in camp chairs on Dallas St. or sitting at Five Star Pizza, we had great conversations. Jeff is greatly missed by those who know and love him. I pray the Good Lord will comfort all family and friends during this extremely difficult time.
