Mr. John Matthew Willoughby, 96, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at a Nursing Home in Augusta, GA. Mr. Willoughby worked and retired as a linotype operator for the Pittsburgh Press. A resident of Pittsburgh, PA for 53 years, he moved to Augusta, Ga in 1999 to be near his sister. In Pittsburgh, he was a member of the Bethesda Presbyterian. He was married to Sadie Greene Willoughby. After the passing of his first wife, he married Bernice McGruder Willoughby who also preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 30, 2006 at 11 am from the Chapel in Homewood Cemetery, Pittsburgh, PA. Survivors are his devoted sister, Samuella W. Chiles; his niece, Francene (Marvin) Mangham; his nephew, Samuel W. Chiles; and a host of other relatives and friends. I was very sorry to hear the passing of Mr. Willoughby. He was such a gentleman.
