NAVONEY JOHN
Passed away surrounded by his loving family, Wednesday, Sept. 5th , 2007. Born July 10th ,1942, John was the son of John and Stella Navoney and brother of Joanie Gasiorowski, (Mike). John grew up in the South Side of Pittsburgh and graduated from South Side High in 1960. After school John served two tours of duty with the U.S. Navy in Vietnam, helping wounded Marines as a naval corpsman aboard the USS Repose. John again served in the Gulf War as a Naval Corpsman, finally retiring from the Navy in 1992. It was in the Navy that John met his wife, soul-mate and best friend of 42 years, Amy Navoney. John and Amy spent several years living on the West Coast, again on the South Side and Baldwin Twp., finally settling in Cranberry Twp. where they lived for 28 years. John worked for Lincare as a Respiratory Therapist and brought comfort to many of his patient's lives. John's greatest love was his family, especially his children Cathie Meyers, (Michael), Chris Navoney, (Michelle) & Kelly Rosenwasser, (David), grandchildren Logan, Liam, Ava, Lex & Abby who survive him. John is also survived by a sixth grandchild who is due in March and seven beloved nieces and nephews. John's greatest achievement was the way he enriched the lives of his grandchildren. Always focused on his family, he could most often be found in the back yard with his grandsons or pushing his granddaughters on the swings. His love for them and the entire family will never be forgotten. We love you with all of our hearts Pappy! Friends will be received 2-4 & 7-9 PM Friday at GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES OF CRANBERRY TWP , INC., 130 Wisconsin Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Saturday, at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, 2535 Rochester Rd., Cranberry Twp. Burial, with military honors will follow in Holy Savior Cemetery, Gibsonia. On-line condolences & directions at www.glennkildoofuneralhome.com
