Of O'Hara Township, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 30 years old. Lance is the late husband of our Francine Snyder, who loved him with devoted tenderness and fought for him with triumphant grace, until he slipped quietly into eternity at her side. Lance is survived by his parents, Dr. Allen and Mary Ann; as well as siblings, Ashley (Robert), Morgan (Cherie) and Parker (Kasia); also by parents- in-law, August and Franca Costa of Morningside; sister-in-law, Rosalyn (Nick); and grandparents, Patrick and Nancy McCarren of Butler. He is predeceased by grandparents, Louis and Claire Snyder of Pittsburgh. Lance was a graduate of James Madison University with a degree in finance. He became a top seller at Howard Hanna. Gifted in design, he bought and renovated a home on Virginia Avenue in Aspinwall. Lance had a heart for children, especially nephews and nieces, Garrett, Julia, Ryan, Joshua, Abigail, Tristan, Nicoletta, Rocco and Viviana, and for volunteering, including the homeless ministry of Pittsburgh and the Fox Chapel junior varsity hockey team. Above all, he was a fisherman, who rested in the still waters of an evening hatch. Visit Lance's courageous battle at ( www.IWouldRatherBeFlyFishing .com). Friends will be received at McCABE BROS., INC. FUNERAL HOME, 6214 Walnut Street, Shadyside on Monday, April 16, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Raphael Church, in Morningside on Tuesday, April 17 at 10 a.m. EVERYONE PLEASE GATHER AT THE CHURCH. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, write "homeless ministry" on donations sent to the Pittsburgh Oratory, 4450 Bayard St., Pgh., PA, 15213. We will miss his blue eyes and abiding humor, which warmed up a room like a chandelier with a thousand sparkles.
