RUFFT MARY JEAN "AUNT MAIRE"
On Wednesday, March 7, 2012. Dearly loved sister of JoAnne (the late James) Emery, Rose Ellen (John) Goda and Sister Mary Ellen, C.D.P.; cherished aunt of Laurie (Dave) Mackey, Jamie (Bob) Carnegie, Kathleen Kraus, Tom (Mary Beth) Emery, Julie (Rob) McGlaughlin, John (Amy) Goda, Matthew (Tamara) Goda, Stephen Goda and the late Michael (Bobby) Emery; treasured great-aunt of 22 great-nieces and nephews and her special canine friend, Ginger. Mary Jean "Maire" was a Field Office Consultant for Prudential Insurance Company for 40 years and in her retirement, volunteered for Family Hospice for 20 more. Aunt Maire lived for others, especially for her nieces and nephews and their children. She was also dedicated to St. Sylvester Church, contributing her time to many church projects. She was unable to say "no" to any request for help; her greatest enjoyment in life was to give to others. Friends of "Aunt Maire" will be received at the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Saturday and Sunday from 3-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Monday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Sylvester Church at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to the Sisters of Divine Providence, 9000 Babcock Blvd., Allison Park, PA 15101, Sisters Place, Inc., 418 Mitchell Avenue, Clairton, PA 15025 or Family Hospice, 50 Moffett Street, Pgh., PA 15243. To Maire's family

I was deeply saddened to learn of Maire's passing. It was always such a pleasure to be in her company. She was indeed a lovely, kind and fun-loving lady. She truly was an angel on earth. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family.

Mary Jean will forever remain in the hearts of the staff and volunteers at Family Hospice and Palliative Care. Every week for 20 plus years she came in to the office to offer her help. She became a part of us and we dearly loved her. We will miss you Mary Jean!
