BOYLAN
DR. RAYMOND JOHN
Age 84, of Sun City, died, peacefully under hospice care surrounded by his family, Sunday, August 21, 2005. He was the devoted husband of Margaret Cavanaugh Boylan for 55 years. Dr. Boylan was a WWII Veteran, a survivor of the sinking of HMT Rohna by a Nazi, radio-guided missile in November, 1943, the largest loss of American life at sea, which was kept secret by the US Government until the 1138 victims and 973 survivors were finally acknowledged by an Act of Congress in 2000. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, he had a long and successful medical career as a General Practitioner and Anesthesiologist in Pittsburgh, PA. He is survived by, in addition to his loving wife, Margaret, his brother, Paul J. Boylan of Evan City, PA; sister, Patricia Pommersheim of Hendersonville, NC, as well as four children: Raymond J. Boylan, Jr. of Worcester, MA, Rosanne Boylan Trissler of Providence, RI, Margaret A. Boylan of Portland, ME and Mary Jo Boylan of Westminster, MD and four delightful grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, J.J. Boylan. A Memorial Concert will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2005 at United Community Church in Sun City Center, FL, where he was an enthusiastic member of the choir. The family will appreciate gifts in his memory to me made to Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa, FL. Arrangements by SUN CITY CENTER FUNERAL HOME, Sun City Center, Florida. (813) 634-9900

To Mary Jo and all the family,

Wonder ever

Cease love never

Then the breath

Of Death

Need never sever.

I wish to express my deepest sympathy to Mrs.Boylan and the family for their loss.

I worked with Dr.Boylan and he was a kind and gentle Doctor who took great care of his patients.

He will be missed by all who have known him.
