Dr Durachko my deepest sympathy on the
loss of your husband.
I have been a volunteer nurse at Catholic Charities Health Center for many years.
Medical shared the space with dental in the early years. Although we did not work together, I would frequently see Dr Gottfried. He always had a smile & a friendly hello.

I knew Dr. Gottfried about 30 years ago when he took care of my teeth and Dr. Durachko took care of my daughters teeth. I liked him so much that I recommended him to a friend. Dr. Gottfried found Lesions in my friends mouth and advised him to go to a doctor. He didn't turn my friend away but fixed his aching tooth so my friend could go on to what he had to face with out mouth pain. My friend had Aids and this brave man took care of him. 30 years ago, this was a big deal because so little was know about Aids and there was so much fear. With multiple health care plans over the years, I lost him as a dentist . I found his name in my old family phone book the Wednesday before the shooting. Since I'm on medicare and have to pay for most of my dental care out of pocket and I remembered him so fondly I looked him up and planned to call his office the following week. I am sorry to have missed the opportunity to see him once more. Mt heart goes out to Peggy for her loss of a good man.

Dearest Peg, Deb, Carol, Bonnie and family. Writing with a heavy heart while not believing I am writing about Rich. There are really no words to adequately express ones feelings of this senseless and tragic loss. I always felt Rich was an exceptional dentist.....with
'hands of gold." Remembering the gentle way he administered injections almost always had me commenting, "Rich, I hope you're hands are insured." The "best" injections, if there is such a thing while sitting in a dentist's chair! A proud, humble, compassionate, and caring husband, son, brother, uncle, dentist and all that went into making the mensch he always was and be remembered as. Wishing you gentle days, proud hearts, and loving memories. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, and sending love. Laverne

Dear Debi and Family, so deeply saddened by your loss. As I remember you and your family were so very close, and rich in your faith. I worked with you at Pitt Dental School (1976-1981) in Radiology. When we worked together, we were like family. I know your family, that you loved and was very proud of them and all their accomplishments. My Sons: Erich and Garret were also so upset by this tragedy. I am truly hopeful we can reconnect and restore our friendship. Your brother was an admirable man and truly gave back to humanity. His love and loving spirit will always be with you. May God Sustain you . Everyone will keep you and your family in our prayers. With deepest condolences, Rosetta L.
