Passed at his home on January 29, 2018 at the age of 34. He was a resident of McCandless. Ryan is the loving son of Patricia and the late Richard W. Crist; beloved brother of Jessica K. Crist; grandson of Esther Mae and the late Neil Daetz & the late Billy E. and Josephine M. Hickerson. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Ryan was a 2002 graduate of North Allegheny High School and went on to receive his Pharm.D. from Duquesne University. He was a proud Eagle Scout with Troop 335 and an avid Pens fan. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at SPERLING FUNERAL HOME, 700 Blazier Dr., McCandless Twp. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. The family suggests that those attending dress casual or wear your favorite Pens attire in Ryan's memory. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Boy Scouts Troop 335 9134 S. Irwin Ave Pgh, PA 15237 or Pgh Penguins Foundation. Please leave remembrances for the family at

I am so very sorry to hear about Ryan's death. I wish I were in Pgh so I could bring the kind of comfort to you and your family that you extended to me when I lost my mother. You were a blessing to me during a difficult time. I cannot think of any words to ease your grief other than to tell you I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers and asking God to hold you especially close. Love, Corinne

Pat, Offering my deepest condolences on the loss of Ryan. I remember him and Jessica when you first brought them to Duquesne when you started. Such a treasure of yours is gone but the memories will always be with you.
