SAVA ERNEST "STEVE"
Of Shaler Twp., on April 11, 2018. Mr. Helides was the beloved husband of 61 years of Dolores (Cavlovich); father of Steve Helides of Glenshaw, Mark Helides (Beth) of Bairdford, Mary Radacosky (Dave) of Pittsburgh, Joanne Custard (Brian) of Meadville, Paul Helides of Glenshaw, Elaine Lascher (Mark) of Allison Park; son of the late Ernest and Alexandra Evanoloude Helides; grandfather of Marissa Helides (Lucas Gosik), Matthew Radacosky, Nicholas Radacosky, Samantha Lascher; great-grandfather of Dominick; brother of Theckla Helides Snell and the late Ernest Helides; also survived by nieces and nephews. He served in WWII, earning three battle stars and returned to the states to work at the Transfer Restaurant owned by his family in Taunton, MA. He moved to Pittsburgh upon his marriage and worked at People's Natural Gas Company for over 30 years. Sava enjoyed his family, lobster, little necks and good food, movies with happy endings, the stock market, Greek food festivals (the smelts), Buicks, and especially his wife, Dolores. Celebrate Mr. Helides' life with his family on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. PERMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 923 Saxonburg Blvd. at Rte. 8, Shaler Twp.
