CRAPIS TOMMASO
Tommaso Crapis peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2011, one week after his 104th birthday. He was born in Gizzeria in Calabria, Italy on January 18, 1907. His wife Maria Aiello preceded Tommaso in death. He was the cherished father of Bruno (Lea) Crapis of Sewickley, Josephine (the late Bruno) Mastroianni of Sewickley, Maria Guiseppe (Serafino) Mastroianni of Montreal. He was the beloved "Nonno" of nine grandchildren: Mary, Sandra, Josephine, Tomasina Crapis of Sewickley, Patsy Mastroianni of Baltimore, Stella Mastroianni of Dallas, Susan Sauro, Pina Ruberto, and Mike Mastroianni of Canada. Tommaso also had nine great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. In addition, he will be mourned and missed by many family and friends around the world. Tommaso loved to garden, which he did up to his 100th birthday. Watching sports, especially all the Pittsburgh teams, was his second favorite pastime. He was a parishioner of St. James Church in Sewickley. Visitation Thursday 7-9 and Friday 2-4, 7-9 at COPELAND'S SEWICKLEY, 702 Beaver St. with prayer on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass at St. James Church Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial in St. James Cemetery.
