Some Life lessons I learned from my Pap Pap:

- Never stop joking & playing, as age is only a state of mind.
- Be loyal and faithful to reap the benefits of loving family and friendships.
- Always think and speak with a positive attitude, as life is 10% what happens to you, and 90% how you react to it.
- Be quick to forgive as this will make your heart and relationships grow stronger, but do not forget the lessons you have learned.
- If you don't like something in your life; initiate a change, as life is too short wait.
- Trust your instincts, they rarely lie.
- When all is said and done, sadness is a small price to pay for the benefits of love.

Thank you for the inspiration and wisdom, your grandson.

Pitschke Family, I was so sorry to hear of Mr. P's passing. He was an important part of my life growing up on Grizella Street. Even when I moved to Florida, when I visited Pittsburgh I always stopped in to see your father. Once I knocked on his door and said Mr. P. do you remember me? He looked for a few seconds and said " You're little Janet Kirner who lived at the end of the street." Now 50 something, I immediately turned into a 10 year old girl. He asked me to have dinner with him then walked me to the bottom of the street introducing me to all the "new" people telling them who I was. I will always cherish that memory and all the others from those days on Grizella Street made special by people like your parents. Walt made an impact on my life and I will remember him fondly. Wally, Richie,Sherry and Lori, watching this video made me cry from start to finish. What a wonderful father he was, the best Pap and all around family man. He was not only a treasure to all of you, but a treasure to so many. What a reunion it was when he saw his wife, brother, sisters and all the Vacek girls and their husbands. I'm sure they are still laughing and welcoming him with open arms. Treasure the memories and all the wonderful photos. He will live on in our hearts forever. I love you Uncle Walter!!

Walt will be missed by so many. His steel blue eyes captured the attention of many. Walt's family was his world and when visiting at his home, Walt was the host of hosts. Walt inspired me just by his acceptance of humanity. He was friendly to all. He regularly walked the hills of his neighborhood and never missed a holiday or celebration with his family. He was a loyal, devoted, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. My heartfelt prayers are with my Chlo Bo but also with 'one of the most incredible families I have ever known'.
