Susan,

Saw the obit and wanted to extend my sympathies. I lost my mother in 1990, so I know this is tough. You and Julie have my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Susan & Julie,

I am so sorry to hear about Your mom. Millie gave me a job when jobs were hard to come by in the early 80's. My two plus years at Straka's kept me out of trouble and kept the bills paid. Millie, Joe and your grandmother were great people to work for and I'll always look back at my time at Straka's with fondness and gratefulness. Homestead and the steel valley lost another part of it's history with the passing of Millie. Your both in my prayers during this difficult time.

With deepest sympathy,

Bill Lammie

Susan and Family:

I really enjoyed meeting Millie at your Christmas party a few years ago and remember her spirit and humor, which I'm sure are among the many wonderful things she passed on to her daughters and grandaughters.

My thoughts are with you all.

Dear Susan,
I am so sorry to learn about Millie's death. She was a brave woman who taught us how to live and die with grace and courage.
Millie meant a lot to many people and I know you will miss her greatly.
Here are some of my memories of the things that Millie gave to all who knew her.
I remember Millie welcoming all of us from the prevention department at St. Francis to Straka's with open arms and great food.
Millie was a gracious host and an astute business woman.
I remember Millie standing by her husband's casket with her two daughters by her side.
Millie was a faithful wife and a loving mother.
I remember Millie treating you and me to a seafood dinner in Boston when you and I took a business trip and she knew that our Catholic hospital per diem didn't stretch too far.
Millie was a kind and generous woman.
I remember Millie's sympathetic, heartfelt prayers for my dying mother.
Millie was a spiritual gift to many with her willingness and faith to pray unceasingly.
I remember Millie's beaming face when you recieved your doctorate.
Millie was a go getter and always valued and supported education and hard work.
I remember Millie giving me advice about a happy marriage when I got married.
Millie was a wise woman.
I remember Millie bursting with pride and joy at the birth of her grandbabies.
Millie's love goes on from generation to generation.
I remember Millie's courage every time she faced an illness, a surgery or a setback.
Millie was a survivor who taught the world about living in the midst of suffering.
Most of all I remember Millie's love of family, God and community.
Millie gave the world an unending legacy that is now yours to carry on.
She will be with you always.
I will be forever grateful for all she shared with me and the world.
May you and Julie take comfort in your many memories.
