I recently read an email sent to me about Chandlers passing, I am deeply sorry for such a loss. I spent many summer camps with Chandler, he is definitely one of the few people I know that with few words can change everything is such a grand way. I will miss the conversations and many fun times I and many other MD campers had with Chandler! Chandler my friend, I love you and will see you again one day. God Bless You My Friend.

Dear Ketchum Family,

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. My fondest childhood and neighborhood memories involve Chan. I'll always remember my first High School dance when Chan was in my group. I was so nervous to be going in a group with upperclassmen - Chan made me feel right at home, and calmed my nerves. He was a kind soul, who will be missed.

Please accept my family's sincerest condolences over Chandler's passing. I was Chandler's percussion teacher at Mt. Lebanon HS and have thought of him many times. I have often told my students about Chandler, and that he was the best student I ever had. His fierce determination to be a part of the percussion ensemble despite the obstacles he had to overcome inspired the whole group to be the best they could be. I am truly honored to have known him and have had him be a part of my African Ensemble. I also know the terrible pain and loss you are experiencing because we lost our beloved 10 year old son Kevin 3 years ago. Kev battled neurological and developmental disorders with a loving and happy spirit, and made my work with Chandler much more meaningful. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers as is Chandler. Thank you giving me the opportunity to have known such a wonderful young man as your son.

Dear Ketchum family,

Although you didn't know us, we saw Chandler throughout his years at Howe School & Mt. Lebanon High School having children his age. We admired his determination and positive attitude -- we are sorry for your loss... and pray that God gives you the strength to celebrate the life that was your son. My daughter was lucky enough to meet him again, as interns at the Aviary. How accomplished Chandler had become -- how infectious his enthusiasm for everything and everyone he met. How lucky my daughter was to be part of His Aviary family, if only a short while.

God bless all of you,

My heart just goes out to you all. to lose a child has to be unbearable.
May the God of all comfort who comforts us in all our pains and sorrows give you all the needed strenght to endure each second of the day.
God will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.
May these words give you a measure of comfort.

I was shocked to hear this news. Not long ago was the first time I had met Chandler at the ESRI UC in August. He was an extremely nice and caring person. Despite everything, he was always positive. I've had a limp for a long time and didn't always have a positive outlook, but his attitude was nothing short of inspirational.

Though I only know of Chandler through Carlton's stories, Chandler's energy, constant focus on his goals, and his wonderful spirit always shone through, as did the obvious joy, love & pride he brought to you, his parents. It is apparent, from these tributes, he also brought that same joy to many others. My deepest sympathy in the loss of such a fine man.

Andrea, Carl & Matt:
I am so saddened to hear of Chandler's passing. I fondly remember many fun visits with Chandler as a child. His strong spirit was always obvious and engaging. It was always obvious that he was a good caring son/brother and equally obvious that he was most fortunate to have a great mother, father and brother. We will fondly remember him. My deep sympathies to you.

As a parent my heart aches for you. I can only pray you find strength in your Faith, and comfort in your memories.
When Chandler was young I dog-sat for you. His parting words were "Maizy likes socks." I was perplexed until experience told me what he meant. His laughter upon arrival back home told me I should have heeded his advice more clearly.
Thank you for the gift of your son.

To The Ketchum Family,

At our first meeting at the Aviary, he said "Call me Chan" and so began our friendship and it continues in spirit. Chan and I were friends and I suspect I got the better end of that deal. He so enjoyed the Aviary, the birds and the Bird Trainers, and we enjoyed his enthusiam and desire to help us. Speaking for myself and the Aviary's Animal Programs Team, we will miss Chan greatly.

Dear Ketchum Family,
I couldn't have been more privileged to have spent so much of my childhood growing up in the presence of Matt and Chan. How I miss the days in the early 90's when life at the age of 5 or 6 was so wonderful, with not a care in the world. One thing I will always remember about Chan was his signature laugh. I think of you all often, and please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Love,
