Emil Luzaich Obituary
On Fri., March 6, 2009, age 86, of Rankin; son of the late Paul and Anna (Zegina) Luzaich; father of Kristine (Luzaich) Kochis, Kim (Miro) Skoro of Croatia; grandfather of Nicholas Kochis, Ivana and Matija Skoro; brother of the late John, Stevean and David Luzaich; uncle of Ronald D. Luzaich; also survived by close friends, Arlene Shubat and Bill Kane. Emil was the owner of Emil's Restaurant and Lounge and Catering for the past 55 years. Emil was known for his famous fish sandwich and the Rankin Rueben. Emil started his career hauling ice and coal and along with his brother operated Glasser Hauling. He was a retired Rankin Volunteer Fireman and a former councilman of Rankin Boro. He also worked for the PA Highway Department as a bridge inspector and a member of the Cro Home and the Russian Club of Rankin. He belonged to St. Ilija Lodge. Friends will be received Monday from 2-8pm at the JAMES F. KUTCH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 107 Fourth Ave., Rankin. Blessing Service Tuesday at 10am in the funeral home with Service at 11am, St. Nicholas Serbian Orth. Church, 2110 Haymaker Rd., Monroeville. Pomen Service Monday, 7:30pm, in the funeral home. Contributions can be made to the Rankin Volunteer Fire Company, 320 Hawkins Ave., Rankin, PA 15104.

Please accept my deepest smypathies on the loss of your Dad. He was always so proud of you both and so rightfully so!
I remember your Dad, Dave,and my Dad drinking at our kitchen table playing guitar till the early hours in the morning. I was so young. When I woke up and and ran over to them they put me on their laps and taught me to sing "You are my Sunshine". Your Dad was so special and he was really a true ray of sunshine.
I know that God will give you the strength, restoration, and the comfort from the Holy Spirit that Jesus left for us at hard times like this.

We have had many good times at Emils place but to this day I think he never new my first name, I was always Matelan to him. I will miss him because he was like my dad to me.

Kimmie and Krissy,

Dear Kristine and Kimmy,
I`m so sorry to hear about your Dad. I worked for him for 16 years. I don`t know if you remember or not. I was the fish cook and made your fish and shrimp dinners to go all the time. That was a long time ago. He was a good man to work for. So sorry for your loss. He will surely be missed by everone who knew him.

I met Emil back in 1978 when I worked for John Sexton & Co. He was one of my customers. As a young sales rep. he taught me many things about catering and business in general and we became good friends. I will never forget him and to the family you have my sympathy.
