To the Palahunik Family,
I will always be thankful for Coach Palahunik no one impacted my early life like he did. I know now it was the Lord who placed him in my life. I will always be grateful for the teaching, interest and the time you invested in me. See you on the other side. #82

Elaine,
It's been so long since I've seen you and wouldn't you know it, I had family over for dinner today and used the beautiful dish you once bought me. When my family commented on how pretty it was, I told them it was from you. It was then that I found out the sad news. I am so sorry for your loss and your family's loss as well. Time, wonderful memories and prayer will help you through it. Take care.
Love,Pam

Palahunik Family

How do put into words how grateful you are to someone that was one of the most instrumental and inspirational people in your life. My Coach, my mentor, my teacher, my hero! George Palahunik was all of this to me and so many others who played for him. He spoke softly and never said much, but just enough to influence an entire life.

To Elaine and his entire family, the deepest sympathy from another Terrapin.

God blessed Coach Palahunik, and everything he touched, I know, because fortunately he touched me.

It was great sadness that I read about Mr.P's passing. He was my coach at Rox Hi. A stern but fair man, who always wanted you to give you best effort. I really got to know coach with the old football boosters, and found out he was a softy at heart. A good man who had an effect on my life. He will remain in our prayers, rest in peace.

Dear Elaine,
How lucky I was to have sat next to George at one of our class reunions. Memories. What would we do without them? I remember George best as he was in high school. Tall, handsome, popular jock who captured and married Elaine Peru and together they produced a nice, large family. Lucky them. Lucky us for knowing them. We'll miss George. Harris has asked to be remembered to you.

I remember Mr Palahunik as my first home-room teacher when I arrived at Stowe High School as a scared 7th grader. I also had Mrs Palahunik as my art teacher. I enjoyed being in classes with both of you.

Robert, Elaine and the Palahunik clan,

I hate it that I couldnt be there with you today and so sorry you have to endure this. My only advice is to be thankful for having a dad/grandfather/husband like Mr. P. Not everyone gets that chance. It's hard to think of right now, but be thankful for the time you had him. You are some of the lucky ones.

Hope to see you soon,

GIG.....How we will miss you.....your great stories that lasted all afternoon and into the evening and kept our interest the whole time....you would go back to 1950 to the present day and always be correct...every nickname that came out of Stowe and McKees Rocks you knew. Everyone that you taught both in school and football will remember, how you instructed them. With those words it gave them the information as how to succeed in life and college. I know with your guidance to me, as a freshman at Stowe in 1954, I am grateful for the scholarship I received for football and my education. Thank you FRIEND, we will miss you and we know that the SUN IS SHINNING AGAIN.

Dear Mrs.Palahunik and Family, I was blessed to have Coach Palahunik in my life. He cared about me as a person, not only as a football player. I was part of that 1966 WPIAL Championship Team. Over the years his winning attitude he instilled in me has helped me to overcome many obstacles in my life. I thank the Lord for him. He helped me attend college even driving me to schools for interviews. Then getting me into the University of Maryland. He was a great coach and a great man. I will never forget him.
