ALBERT G.
Age 82 of Tower Hill #1, PA, and formerly of Oakdale, PA, passed away, Monday, September 22, 2003, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pgh. He was born, October 13, 1920, in Pittsburgh, PA, a son of the late John A. McAteer, and Minnie Rayle McAteer. Albert was a member of Oakdale Presbyterian Church and had attended the Church of the Madonna, Cardale, PA. He was a retired serviceman from Equitable Gas, a disabled veteran of WWII, surviving in the US Army Air Force, member of Oakdale American Legion Post 171, the Oakdale Fire Department, the Oakdale Masonic Lodge #669. Albert was preceded in death by brothers, John and Alex McAteer. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Labons McAteer; children, Martin A. McAteer of Aliquippa, PA, Steven J. McAteer of Imperial, PA, Armand Verelat of Oakdale, PA, Marcella Falconer of Sturgeon, PA, and Martin J. Verelst of Norfolk, VA; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Hazel Conway of Oakdale, PA, Betty Rich of Plum Boro, PA, and Margaret Lever of Florida. Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME INC., Legion St., Republic, PA, on Thursday, from 7-9pm, and Friday until 10am, when a Blessing Service will be held with Rev. Fr. Stephen Bugay officiating. Interment will follow after a luncheon in Jefferson Memorial Cemetery, Pittsburgh, PA, where Military Rites will be accorded by the Oakdale American Legion Post 171. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Church of Madonna, PO Box 400, Republic, PA 15475. Oakdale Masonic Lodge #669 will hold Ritualistic Services today at 7:30pm.
