For the Startari family I know I am literally a decade late on this condolence but I wanted to place it anyway. I grew up in Level Green, joining the military in 87 and just now moving back to PA (Johnstown) last year. I was a level green kid who knew Mr Startari well as I was a year younger than his son Gino, who was a gifted athlete and baseball player I played with for years. Mr Startari is literally the epitome of a great dad, and friendly mentor who, I think, to a man, every kid and grownup enjoyed being around. He had an easy smile and constant encouragement for us playing ball and his ever present camera took some great pictures. To this day, one of, if not, my favorite pictures of my childhood is one he took during Pony league all star game when I was 14. If you know me then you know, my Dad, Harry and Gino often talked and helped in the baseball leagues in level green as my dad was twice my coach and Gino (jr) played on the team as our star when I was 11 in little league. My dad, the picture of health, passed at the young age of 58 some 25 years ago and I suspect Mr Startari's passing took your family just as hard. Please have my belated condolences. I have such fond memories of Mr Startari and his son from my childhood and I suppose that feeling is true for all of us kids who knew the kind and encouraging man growing up. God Bless,
Mark Clawson

Even though I no longer live in Pittsburgh i will always have the greatest memories for my longtime friend Gino. I was visiting my dad and went to a Penguin game this past week when one of his "crew" told me about him. Gino and i go back 33 years and he loved to make photos and it showed.
i loved that man and i always will as he was a very special person to me and my friends.

To the Startari family, please accept my deepest sympathy and condolences for your loss. Gino was one of the nicest people I have ever known and I cannot tell you how grateful I am to him to this day for the many times he was able to get me work at the Civic Arena while I was going to law school at Duquesne University. That income really helped a lot. He was a true gentlemen and touched my life in a profound way, for which I am eternally grateful. My deepest sympathies to all in the Startari family.....Jamie Cummings

Nancy and family:
My deepest sympathies are extended for your loss. Gino was a fine gentleman. I regret that due to distance that he and I could not get together. I retired from Equitable in 1996 and relocated in 2001. Gino and I enjoyed many a good laughs and we could have co-authored a humorous book on labor-management relations.

Nancy and family; There are no words to express our sympathy in the loss of Gino. He and Denny have been "cums" for 40 years; those kind of relationships are far and few apart. We watched your children grow as well as he watched our girls grow and we have many wonderful memories that will remain with us until we meet him on the other side. Your family has truly been blessed having him as we too are blessed for having him in our lives. He will never be far from our hearts and prayers. God be with you during this difficult time. He truly was a great human being.
With deepest sympathy and love, The Cavanaugh family.

My deepest sympathy to the Startari Family. Gino was a wonderful man and will be sadly missed by the organizations here in Freeport, PA. He was the photograper for Freeport Softball, NSB baseball, Soccer, Freeport Football and cheerleading and my preschool, Trinity Lutheran. He always met the children with a smile. He was so proud of his grandchildren. He would show us pictures of them everytime he saw us at one of the photo shoots. I know that he is now pain free and will be an angel looking over all of you. God Bless.
