TINA SALPIETRO Obituary
On Monday, December 6, 2010. Beloved wife of 51 years of Vincent G. Salpietro; mother of Frank Salpietro (Janice), Nina Caniglia (Renato), Joe Salpietro (Kathie) and Mary Grace Roos (Michael); grandmother of Vincent, Francesco, Nicholas and Isabella Salpietro, Margherita and Elizabeth Caniglia, Vince and Tina Salpietro and Anthony, Gianna and Gabriella Roos; sister of Concetta Longo, Nunzio Astone and Maria Augusto, all of Italy. Tina was born in Italy in 1941 and emigrated to the United States on December 6, 1962. Friends will be received at JOHN A. FREYVOGEL SONS, INC., 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street (412-621-1665) on Wednesday 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Thursday, Mass of Christian Burial St. Joseph Church (Bloomfield) 11:30 a.m.

Our sincere condolences in the passing of your dear wife. Thank you for the invite to Sharpsburg to get acquainted. Although it was our first and last visit, we never forgot you folks, the hospitality and wonderful food at Salpietro's. We were looking for you online when we found the sad news of Tina's passing.
May God strengthen you and the entire family as only He can!

Dear Vince and Family,
Words cannot express how sorry I am to learn of Tina's passing. Please accept my deepest sympathy at this very difficult time.
While living on West Penn Place for many years, I can recall seeing Tina proudly walking her precious grandchildren or the family pets, and until recently, enjoyed seeing both of you at the block parties on our street.
I pray for your peace and comfort at this time.

Frank and family, I was sorry to read about your mother's passing. I can remember the first time I met your parents at their restaurant many years ago and how proud they were of you. Your family has been such a big part of my life for so long. I have found friendship, love, and family among you all. My heart goes out to you in this time of loss. You have helped me so much with the recent loss of my father and have shown me nothing but love and support. Dear Salpietro Family, We are heartbroken to hear of Tina's passing. We pray that God will comfort you as you grieve her loss. We will cherish the memory of the times our children as toddlers would beg to go sit on your front porch to talk with Tina (inevitably she would bring them cookies or icecream too). Dear Salpietro Family, my family and I are deeply saddened by your loss. I've always felt like I grew up in your family nearly as much as my own and Tina was always one who made me feel welcome. While I was home on leave while serving in the military, Joe would always make sure that I stopped by the restaurant to see Vince and Tina. Those meals with them were always very special to me as was the conversation and time spent with them. She was a beautiful person who will be dearly missed.
