COYLE CAROLYN (LOEFFLER)
96, a well known and loved local artist of Sewickley passed away quietly at her home surrounded by her children on Saturday, February 26, 2011. Born December 14, 1914 in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Frederick T. and Helen (Wells) Loeffler; beloved wife of the late Elliott R. Coyle; loving mother of Christopher W. Coyle of Mill Valley, CA, Susan C. (Bill) Wardrop, William C. (Kim) Coyle, Elizabeth C. (Trip) Devens, Elliott R. Coyle and Caroline C. (Hank) Greller all of Sewickley; grandmother of Wm. Blair Wardrop, Elizabeth Wardrop Lawley, Courtney W. Coyle, Madelaine C. Coyle, William C. Coyle Jr., Christopher C. Devens and Carolyn H. Devens; great-grandmother of Alexander and Carolyn Coyle Lawley; sister of the late Rebecca L. Mack and Frederick T. Loeffler and aunt of many nieces and nephews. A graduate of Carnegie Tech (now Carnegie Mellon University), Carolyn was a professionally accomplished painter, specializing in non-objective art and a long-term member of the Association Artists of Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Group, and several other local art leagues. Her paintings are in national and private collections. Family invites all to attend a memorial service to be held on Saturday March 5, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Sewickley. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions to the Sweetwater Center for the Arts, Sewickley or the Sewickley public library in Carolyn's memory.
