On Wednesday, October 10, 2012. Loving husband of Deborah Benkovitz; beloved son of Evelyn Soltz Benkovitz and the late Bernard Benkovitz; adoring father of Jennifer Benkovitz, Samuel Benkovitz, Zach Benkovitz, Benjamin (Amy) Hurwitz, Daniel (Maria) Hurwitz; beloved brother of Rose Linda (Charles) Lebovitz and Reuben (Colleen) Benkovitz; nephew of Renee (Gene) Lichter, Marlene (George) Weiss, Nadine Sales, and Sydney (Marietta) Soltz; loving uncle of Emily Lebovitz and Jeffrey (Jill) Lebovitz, Max Benkovitz, Nicky Benkovitz, and Ingrid Benkovitz; loving grandfather of Charlie Joseph Hurwitz and Sawyer James Hurwitz; preceded in death by Sam Benkovitz and Morris (Mary) Benkovitz; also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Services at RALPH SCHUGAR CHAPEL, INC., 5509 Centre Avenue, Shadyside on Friday at 12 noon. Visitation one hour prior to services (11 a.m.-12 noon). Interment Beth Shalom Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, Children's Library, 4401 Penn Ave., Central Plant 3 Floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15224 or Gateway Rehab, Robinson Plaza 3, Suite 430, 6600 Steubenville Pike, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
