ALBERT SYLANSKI Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Oct. 17 to Oct. 19, 2012.
SYLANSKI ALBERT F., Jr. DMD "SKI"
Age 61, of Peters Twp., on Monday, October 15, 2012. Devoted husband of Janet Sylanski; loving father of Katie, Emily, and Stephanie Sylanski; cherished grandfather of Braeden Albert Sylanski; dear brother of Linda Blutas and Susan (Ed) Burgoon; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Albie was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, where he played baseball and still holds an ERA record. He graduated from Pitt Dental School in 1977. He was a Lifetime Member of the Pitt Alumni Association. He practiced dentistry in Carnegie and Heidelberg for over 30 years and was always dedicated to his patients. He was an active member of the American Dental Association and Pennsylvania Dental Association. Ski's true sports passion was baseball. He participated in pitching Coaches Clinics for many years and could talk baseball for hours with his best buddies. Albie was the best judge of a "good meal" in any town. His legacy is the laughter he brought to people's lives and we will miss the smiles he brought to our days. His memory will be carried on by everyone he met, as he made his way through life. Dear Jan & Family:

So sorry to hear about Al!

Living beside you good folks for over 17 years gave us a tremendous insight into the quality of family values you people represented.

Al would always shout across the property line a simple greeting as we did when seeing each other outside.

We remember so well the annual plant mulch party. Each year Al would remind us in advance when it was coming so we could get a few wheelbarrels for our trees since we had river gravel around the perimiter of the house.

The night before our move to Georgia will always be remembered for the time you & Al spent with us chatting about our years as neighbors.

We will keep you & your family in our prayers.

I am incredibly sorry for your loss. Dr. Sylanski was my family's dentist when I was growing up. I have two sisters and a brother and we all LOVED him and the prize box that he had in the office. Kids normally HATE going to the dentist, and rightly so! Dr. Sylanski made going to the dentist so fun for us, that we all literally looked forward to those visits and the crazy prizes that we would leave with! He will be missed by the MANY people that he touched. I pray for God's blessing on your family during this time.
