MATAYA EDWARD J.
Of Penn Twp., age 66, passed away peacefully at his home in the presence of his family, on Thursday, January 3, 2013. Beloved husband of Kathleen (McGuigan) Mataya for 16 years; loving father of Clarice ONeal of Greensburg and Janine (Thomas) Lah of Mars; dear stepfather of Megan (Derek) Gutkowski of Manor and Kelly Kreiling of Wilkins Twp.; proud grandfather of Delaney and Andrew Lah; Madison, Julia and Howie Gutkowski; also survived by his companion pet dog, Roxie. Ed was a U.S. Army Reserve and National Guard veteran and he was a retired welder from USSteel, Edgar Thomson Plant. He was a former volunteer fireman with the Circleville Fire Dept. and currently served as a Deacon for the New Life Presbyterian Church in Penn Twp. Ed enjoyed camping, vacationing at the beach, caring for his yard and riding his tractor. But, he was most passionate about spending time with his family. Friends welcome Saturday 6-8 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at PATRICK T. LANIGAN FUNERAL HOME. TURTLE CREEK /MONROEVILLE CHAPEL, 1111 Monroeville Ave., at James St., Turtle Creek 412-823-9350. A Funeral Service will be held in the New Life Presbyterian Church on Monday at 11 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to The Deacon's Fund, c/o New Life Presbyterian Church, 326 Raymaley Rd., Harrison City, PA 15636.
