EMILY SCOTT Obituary
Age 72, of Richland, on May 5, 2015. Beloved wife for 50 years of John T. "Jack" Scott; sister of Sally (James) Hubbard Burke, Cathy (David) Hubbard Mowery, and Akasha; sister- in-law of Teresa J. Lah; dear aunt of James (Diana) Burke, Becky (Kenneth) Deemer, Tracy (Douglas) Wayne, and Jason (Kris) Wehrle; great-aunt of James and Ellie Burke, Ken and Ryan Deemer, Trevor, Emily and Claire Wayne, and Emma and Brady Wehrle; also survived by many dear animals, pets and four legged friends. Emily was a graduate of North Allegheny High School and Carnegie Mellon University where she earned Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in both Art and Art Education. She was a teacher and Art Director for Pine-Richland High School for 32 years teaching painting, print making, jewelry, batiking, weaving, computer graphics, drawing, and ceramics. Emily also was an instructor at both Carnegie Mellon University and Westmoreland Museum of Art. She loved animals, was a recreational airplane pilot, and traveled with her husband driving their diesel motor home. A passionate and gifted artist, Emily came from a talent rich family who will miss her dearly. Services will be private. Donations to Animal Friends, 562 Camp Horne Rd., Pgh., PA 15237. Mrs Scott was my favorite teacher. 4 classes with her thru 3 years ....She was a wonderful teacher and a wonderful person. All my best and prayers for her and her family. Graduating Class 83

Mrs. Scott was more than a teacher to me. I've carried a drawing I made through many moves and a few decades not because the drawing is that good, but because of the memories attached to it. I'm sorry to hear that she is gone. I'm thankful to have known her.

Jack, my deepest sympathy for your loss. Em was the best teacher of students and adults that I ever knew. No one individual changed and touched my life in a positive fashion more than Em.

Mrs. Scott was a inspiration to so many. She brought art into our lives, and with it light and love. She was a great teacher and friend. Her light will be missed.....

Emily Scott touched my life as my high school art teacher. I followed her footsteps and graduated from CMU in Fine Arts. She was an inspirational teacher and mentor and I will never forget her.

Mrs. Scott, as I called her, as one of my art teachers while I attended Pine-Richland High School, was such an amazing person and talented artist. She had a warm, wise, motherly spirit and she was a patient, caring and encouraging teacher. I know she touched many lives of her students and probably anyone she met as she was simply one of those truly good souls. Rest in peace, Emily. May Angels bring you in.

I am so saddened by the loss of Emily. She was such a good and kind person. I remember when she generously showed me CMU when I was applying to colleges. Her grieving loved ones are in my prayers.
