Saddened to hear of Mr. Metro's passing, luckily Life does not end - our body as a shell is discarded but in Spirit we live on to continue with our family & friends as loved ones. The James Van Praagh book "TALKING TO HEAVEN" explains it all about the Other Side & what to expect & it's all very comforting. I'm sure he's had a wonderful time connecting with South Fayette Teacher staff & students who've crossed over before him & Lots of smiles & laughs have already been had & shared along with plenty of hugs in reuniting & rekindling w~ his family & friendships. I enjoyed Mr. Metro as a teacher & wish his wife, Bonnie & Kevin (strength) as this temporary loss of his company. Mediums like the Long Island Medium, Chip Coffee, Chris Fleming, Amy Allan & James Van Praagh are also available to seek out as their readings to speak with Met in the present in Spirit. Life does not end with the loss of our physical bodies.

So sorry for your loss. Met was one of the good people at South Fayette. I had the privilege to teach and coach with met Met. What a fun guy to be around. He would give you that tough guy appearance but had such a big soft heart. He will be missed.
May God Bless Met.

I was so sad to hear of Mr Met's passing. The stories he used to tell us, the Gettysburg trip, the Sarris candy sales, and that bottomless bag of chocolate covered pretzels he had on his desk-all just a few of the many memories I'm certain we all share. He never forgot a face-he had taught my dad and my aunt, and I can remember him calling my Barb at least once a week. I thought it was crazy he could remember students he had taught years ago, and then my sister had him-and he would occasionally call her Diana. I had to laugh when she told me that-I had become one of those students from years ago that he still remembered. One of the best teachers, he respected us all, but didn't hesitate to tell us when we messed up. Nobody was ever afraid of Mr Met-you could go to him with anything anytime, and he would move heaven and earth to help in any way he could. The world has lost a wonderful, kind-hearted man. I hope he knows just how much we all cared for him. He managed that fine balance between being a friend and a teacher, and did it with grace. Prayers to his family, and rest easy Mr Met-I hope we all have made you proud.

So sorry for your loss. Mr. Met was our favorite teacher. I believe that we were his first class at South Fayette. Gary would conveniently forget his practice clothes and Mr. Met would throw him his keys. We were the first class to go to Gettysburg. My son and daughter, Philip and Sara Carter, also were taught by him. It was so much fun to go back to the school and see him. I have no idea how he remembered us, but he did. We were truly blessed to have such a mentor. Rest in Peace Mr. Met!!

I remember sitting in his class in 1978 when i was in 7th or eight grade. he was telling us about a day in the future when we would carry around our phones in our pockets. this sounded so bizarre to me... but he was very insighful and a great teacher!

Mr. Met was one of the great ones and there were not many that would make an impression on you like he did. Reading everyone's memories of him is a a wonderful tribute. I never knew how much Sarris Candy I had to sell so I could get my Letterman Jacket. I never got a bill so we must have done good. His little car. Was it a Honda Civic? His arm hanging out the window I swear his fingers could grab the bottom of the car. Always waved as he went past the house. I hope he knew how much he ment to his students. And to take the 8th grade class to Gettysburg every year. We all have great memories of our trips. A wonderful person to talk to. Mrs. Metro, Bonnie and Kevin thank you for sharing your husband and Dad with ALL of South Fayette. RIP Met!

Mr. Metro was funny and kind, dedicated to his work, his football team, and his students. He had a funny sense of humor and an impeccable memory for details. He will live forever in my fond memories of South Fayette. To the Metro family, my sincerest condolences and heartfelt sympathy.

Dear MaryAnn, Bonnie and Kevin,
I spent the last four years of my tenure at South Fayette, teaching with Met. He was one of the kindest and most generous people I have had the pleasure of knowing. His sometimes gruff exterior masked the goodness of his heart. Met made his mark at South Fayette and will be fondly remembered by all the lives he touched. My deepest sympathies as you struggle to move on in life without him!

Condolences to Mary Ann, children, and family. Mr. Met was a genuine influence in my life. Thanks for the help in getting me into American Legion Baseball in Robinson, since S.F. didn't have a team. Another thanks for taking me to Wooster, OH along with Jonathon Hayes to try to get me into a great baseball program. He was a man who would bend over backwards for anyone. Met will remain in my memories always.

I am so sorry for your loss, Skeeter was always well thought of
Back in the day. Sunnyside Street in Hazelwood, and Skeeter's
Front porch was the best possible place to hang out when the
"Gang" was not hanging out on the "corner".
It has been said, that you never have friends like the friends you
had when you were a teenager
Wishing you and your family well going forward from this sad time

I recall sitting in that classroom listening to all those wild stories he had to say. I remember Mr. Metro . He used to coach football along side with my late father. Fond memories. May he RIP and may God hold his loved ones tight.

Mrs. Met
Sorry to hear about coach - not only was he a great coach, he became a better friend. You could go to him about anything that was going on in your life and he was there with advice. Can't explain the impact he had on so many of our lives.

So sorry to heard about Met's passing. I know he was sick for a long time and this probably was not a big surprise for you all.
But still, it is a big heartache. MaryAnn, I am so glad that you decided to bowl with us girls. Please come back soon. We will all try to comfort you in the coming days!

One of my most favorite teachers!! When the Class of 73 gets together, the topic we reminisce most about is our 8th grade field trip to Gettysburg that Mr Met planned in his 1st year teaching at SF. We were the 1st class to go, and it is a shame that they discontinued it.
Met never forgot ANYTHING! And he knew EVERYONE! He always had some great stories to tell. He will be remembered fondly.

Mr Met was truly one of the good guys. He would do anything to help his students, as if we were family. I'll have fond memories of his mimeograph copies of handouts he kept "organized" in boxes on top of cabinets in his classroom, his stories of his younger life that always seemed so farfetched, Gettysburg, Sarris candy sales and SF letterman jackets, and him winking (sneaking) us into sporting events while he was collecting admission money at the door. The Kotar family extends our prayers and condolences...thanks for all you have done for our family, Mr Met.
